Theatre: Bruce Opens to Full House and Thumbs Up From Libby Davies

We wandered slightly off-Drive last night for the premiere of Bob Sarti's new work Bruce the Musical, produced by Commercial Drive's own, Theatre in the Raw.

Libby Davies, a central character in the story of her charismatic activist/politician husband Bruce Ericksen, was onhand to see the show, answer questions and autograph programs.

This production has everything: humor, tragedy, hope and my favorite - dancing cockroaches. Featuring great music and lyrics by Earle Peach and Bill Sample (who is on stage during the the performance with a stand-up bass player, and saxaphonist), Bruce runs until November 16 at the Russian Hall (600 Campbell Ave.) tickets are available online at www.theatreintheraw.ca or at Urban Empire on Commercial Drive.
