News: Display Window Seen As Atrocious!

Ed. : For those of you who may have missed this story, here it is. Dispite what's in the article, the display seems to have been changed, and significantly.
This reminds me a lot of the same kind of kufluffle that took place after 9:11 on Main St.. Burcu's Angels had a manikin draped in in an American Flag and soaked in blood. They got letters. Actually, she (Burcu, a woman with quite the story to tell) got multiple letters from the same person. In that case, i firmly believe the person writing the letter was misguided.
It's a story i should write sometime, but have to be careful when, simply because I know both Burcu and the letter writer, and was asked to step in. It wasn't a pleasant task.

In this case, I don't know if that's the situation. From what I heard, a line was crossed by Mintage when they had dismembered babies in plastic bags.
Let me know what you think about this, and send photos if you've got em!

How Hallowe'en got controversial
Oct, 18 2007 - 12:20 AM

VANCOUVER/CKNW(AM980) - A Hallowe'en display on Commercial Drive is getting plenty of attention, not all of it positive.

You wouldn't call it subtle; the display in the window of Mintage Clothing at Commerical and First Avenue features severed limbs, simulated bloody handprints, and a hatchet wielding mannequin.

Mintage staff say people tell them the display is attrocious, with some threatening to get a City Inspector to come in. Others say its just art, and a good expression of Hallowe'en.

Staff won't remove the display until November 1st, but they have covered some of it with black sheets, and pasted the window in front with e-mails; some supportive, some not.
