this is RIDICULOUS.
Let's pressure (elected) council members to take responsibility for policy!
Perhaps these senior bureaucrats would do well to travel beyond the confines of their insular wee worlds and edify themselves. The civilized cities on the planet will gladly take our tourists and perhaps some of our residents too!
Commercial Drive is particularly vibrant due to its very well mannered restaurant and bar clientele. Any visitors I host always remark on how lucky I am to have these restaurants and bars at my doorstep. I have been a homeowner in the hood for 17 years now and have no complaints whatsoever. The Drive has only improved with the fantastic array of choices offered. At one time, I always beckoned to join my friends downtown or Main, but now, they always want to come to the Drive. It's great.
Their plans do not make economic sense.
