#SeenOnTheDrive: The Cut

I took this pic and suddenly there were three other people doing the same.

Opinion: Is Our Memory That Short?

Thinking about the recent shooting on the Drive, it would appear that the drive has a bit of a split personality.
You wouldn't have any idea that there had ever been an incident.
Vegetables are being spread out, panhandlers are at their usual stations. I haven't seen a cop all day. A young girl with orange hair stood checking her phone in almost the exact spot the young man was gunned down.
Even walking it last night, the street seems to have no memory. it revelled and paraded and hustled pizza and beer.
Sometimes living near the Drive can feel pretty random and disconnected. Or perhaps that's just Life.
What do other people think?

Film: Dogumentary Takes a Bite Out of Pet Psychology @ the Prophouse

Vita Bella: The Dogumentary
directed by
Alison Parker

Final Three Episodes launch March 7, 14, 21

(Vancouver, BC)  Forget your spring cleaning – spring forward doggie-style with Vita Bella: the Dogumentary!

On March 7, 14 and 21 this seven episode mockumentary web series winds up with its last three episodes.

But the tail-wagging is just starting. This d-i-y production success story is the creation of many Vancouver actors and crew members over the last two years, and it’s time to celebrate.

Join us at the Prophouse Cafe, 636 Venables in Vancouver, on Woofsday, March 21 to uncover Dr. Marsha’s new path as Vita’s sublime and wacky adventures come to an uplifting end in the seventh and final episode of the web series. Vita, psychologist Dr. Marsha Mayright and Vita’s human companion, Junie, arrive at how to live a beautiful life, a vita bella.
The celebration of the grand finale begins at 8 p.m. and continues until we’re dog tired.

How do you live a vita bella?  Dogs already know the answer. Through trying to help the dog Vita, pet psychologist with a secret, Dr. Marsha Mayright played by Deb Sears, and Vita’s human companion, Junie, played by 2011 Leo nominee Meeshelle Neal, learn to live a beautiful life as well.  Not-so-friendly pet assassin Dr. Needles (Kurtis Maguire), the Pup-arazzo (Gregory Schoen), and the “Bow-wowist” (Kasey Ryne Mazak) who seeks Vita, round out the human pack. Eighteen more dogs, one rat, a bearded dragon, a six-toed kitten, a parakeet, and a frazzled squirrel add to the chaos along the way.

Cast and crew will attend and answer questions about the making of Vita Bella: the Dogumentary, co-written by Pam Bentley and Terry McDermott, and directed by Alison Parker (“Jake and Jasper: A Ferret Tale”).

Real life Vancouver Pet Psychic Beverly Crook (http://vancouverspetpsychic.com) will also be in attendance. Musical entertainment will be provided by Rowan Lipkovits of the Creaking Planks, and other local East Vancouver musicians, some of whom wrote original music for the final episode.
