News: Car Lands in Victoria Drive Shop

This afternoon at approximately 12:30pm there was a 3 car accident at the intersection of Grant St. and Victoria Drive, resulting in one vehicle coming to rest in the wall of the South Seas Trading Company.

Two people were treated for injuries and at least one woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.

While the official cause of the accident is still unknown, witnesses believe it was a “chain reaction” rear-ender and may have been speed-related.

The cost of damages is still to be determined.
South China Seas owner Don Dickson is said to upset about the timing of this since his Granville Island location is essentially being shut down for the Olympics.
Neighbors said they have complained to the city several times about the need for more control over traffic in that particular stretch of Victoria Drive from Venables right up to 12th Ave., but their concerns have fallen on deaf ears.

Emergency crews were quick to respond to this two-car collision at 3rd Ave. & Commercial outside of Waves Coffee at approximately 3pm today.
Both drivers only suffered minor injuries.

Police Car Hit in Crash

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - A crash at East Broadway and Victoria just before 4 this morning closed Broadway in both directions between Commercial Drive and Semlin. A small car running a red light smashed into a Vancouver Police cruiser, then caught on fire.

No serious injuries were reported, and the driver of the car was taken away in handcuffs. Police are still investigating the incident.
